Obstetric Anesthesia

Under the direction Dr. David Rosen, these seven board-certified anesthesiologists are always available, 24/7, to provide anesthetic care to patients in labor. Our Obstetric Division also administer care to patients undergoing scheduled or emergency cesarean section, cervical cerclage, dilation and curettage, and postpartum tubal ligation.

This subspecialty division of Park Ridge Anesthesiology Associates consists of seven board-certified anesthesiology physicians, all of whom have specialized training as well as years of experience in the care of obstetric patients. Our Obstetric Anesthesiology Division is an integral part of the Labor and Delivery Department at Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge. The Division makes a dedicated Obstetric Anesthesiologist available in the hospital 24 hours per day.

Our Obstetric anesthesiologists work closely with both the expectant mother and her obstetrician. Initially we patiently discuss her options and develop a comprehensive plan to suits her needs. In the case of a Cesarian Section birth, should mom desire, we can provide one dose of postoperative neuraxial pain relief that lasts up to 24 hours. Our primary mission is to provide a pleasant obstetric experience and to ensure the well-being and utmost safety of both mother and newborn.

The Labor and Delivery Department at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital is one of the busiest in the Chicago area. Importantly, our department is a Level-3 Perinatal Center and one of the most technologically advanced in the Chicago area.

This distinction, together with a highly skilled, 24/7 anesthesiology staff, allows us to provide the highest quality of care to all types of obstetric patients and babies, from uncomplicated cases to very high-risk pregnancies.
